What is Pilates
Pilates is an exercise method that was developed by Joseph Pilates (1883-1967). He believed that we should be balanced equally in body, mind, and spirit. He concluded that our modern lifestyle, bad posture, and inefficient breathing were the roots of poor health. In order to change that, he developed a regimen of exercises aimed at helping correct muscular imbalances and improve posture, coordination, balance, strength, and flexibility as well as to increase breathing capacity.
He also invented a variety of equipment, based on spring resistance, which could be used to perform these exercises. Pilates is an efficient, effective and safe conditioning method. Even though this method can be a huge help with injury rehabilitation, Pilates is an excellent method for those seeking to refine movement, strengthen core muscles, and increase body awareness.
Pilates is a path to a balanced and happy life.
Private & Semi-private Sessions
A Studio Sessions is a 55 minute session where the instructor will take you through a Pilates repertoire based on what your goals, needs, and capabilities are. Besides using the Pilates equipment (Reformer, Wunda Chair, Trapeze Table and High Barrel), the studio also uses small accessories to increase the challenge or to assist the exercise. Balance boards, exercise bands, balls, foam rollers and magic circles are part of the I AM PILATES studio equipment and are often used to spice up the repertoire!
Semi-private Session: A 3:1 Session designed to keep the session intimate and personalized. Ideal for clients who don’t have any major injury or concern and are ok with sharing the hour with two other clients.
Private Session: A 1:1 Session – ideal for clients who have major injuries or concerns that needs to be treated/addressed or for those looking for a bit more personalised attention.

Carolina was very thorough during the sessions and took the time to explain every element of the exercises to make sure I had a good understanding of what it was I was doing and why it will help me. I've noticed a huge difference in my day to day mobility and my lower back pain has dramatically decreased, I feel stronger and more stable. I would highly recommend everyone try Pilates with Carolina at I Am Pilates and see for themselves the difference it will make."
